Green Team
Green Team met this week to talk about the importance of switching off electrical items when they are not in use. We talked about what we could do in school to save energy, and came up with some ideas: Turn off the lights when the class goes out for break or lunch Turn off the Smart Boards when not in use Turn off any chargers when not in use Close doors to keep the heat in the classrooms We made some fantastic posters to remind other children about saving energy. Over the next two weeks, we will be having ‘Switch off Fortnight’, when the Green Team will be checking that we are being energy-conscious in our classrooms and avoiding wasting energy.
Yesterday, Green Team spent a fun afternoon with Craig from 'Wilder Schools' creating some hedgehog houses and routes on our school field. We are trying to attract more wildlife into our grounds! We created some very inviting homes for the hedgehogs, and also painted some pebbles to mark out a route. We used charcoal in our houses, which should capture the footprints of any creatures using them. We are excited to see if we attract any visitors!
