Help your child to practise writing 2 syllable words. Practise clapping out the syllables in the word e.g. lunch-box.

Listen for the sounds and write the first clap 'lunch' and then listen for the sounds in the second clap and add this 'box'. Read back the word. Have you remembered all of the sounds?

Practise writing:

lunchbox, helpdesk, windmill, treetop, starlight, desktop, sandwich, sandpit.

Have a go at labelling the pictures. They all have the st sounds at the end e.g. rest, vest, burst.
