We have been practising Christmas songs. We have also enjoyed making Christmas cards and peppermint creams. We had a go at marble painting and used this to make baubles.
We had lots of fun at our Christmas Fair.
This week we will be writing letters to Santa. We will try and include all of the features we looked at last week. We will also be focussing on our handwriting.
We need to be careful to make sure we form our letters correctly, starting and finishing in the correct places.
This week we are working on:
-Naming 3d shapes (Cube, cuboid, sphere, cylinder, cone, pyramid)
-Naming 2d shapes (Triangle, circle, square, rectangle)
-Making patterns using shapes
We will be working from pages 119-133 in our Power Maths books.
We will be consolidating the phase 5 sounds we have learned and using these to read and write.
Please remember to listen to your child read. Please use there Oxford Owl log on to access more reading books at their level if needed.
These words are key words that children need to learn to read and would be useful to know how to spell from memory. Please help your child to practise these at home:
We have been looking at the rest of the UK. We have been looking at maps and some traditions of Northern Ireland and England. Can your child remember the capital cities of Northern Ireland and England?
Laptops: We are also practising controlling the cursor using the paint app to create our own pictures. We are exploring changing colours and what the different buttons in the app do.
