This week we are reading a poem called The Sound Collector. Share the poem attached below and talk about it. Who is the Sound Collector? Why is he collecting sounds? Can you find the rhyming words and think of your own? You could match the rhyming words on the 2nd worksheet.

Tuesday:

Today I would like you to have a go at reading/remembering a verse from the poem and performing it. Try to add sound effects as you read it out loud. Remember to speak loudly, clearly and look at your audience!

Thursday:

Today I would like you to think about the character if The Sound Collector. What is he like?  Where does he come from?

Can you use the question words who, what, where, why and when to think of some questions you would like to ask this character?

Have a go at writing your questions remembering to segment each words to spell them and include finger spaces.

Friday:

Today in class we will be acting in role as the sound collector and answering the questions we wrote yesterday. Perhaps you could do this with someone at home. Think about why he might be taking the sounds and where he might come from. You could also have a go at drawing him!
