This week in phonics we are continuing to practise reading and writing longer words (with at least 4 sounds).
Example words to practise reading and writing:
Remember to break these words up into smaller chunks to help with reading and writing.
When writing these words remember to read back your writing after. Does it say what you wanted it to? Have you included all of the sounds?
Practise reading words with 4 sounds by playing Buried Treasure, Dragon's Den or Picnic on Pluto. Select phase 4, ccv and ccvc words sets 1-7 including digraphs. Or without digraphs if your child needs a little more practise before adding the challenge of spotting digraphs in words too.
Practise breaking words into their sounds to write by playing Rocket Rescue on Phonics Play.
This week we are learning a new tricky word - here
Go to the phonics play website and on the Tricky Trucks game you can select which words you would like your child to practice. Please choose all of Phase 2 and 3 and the tricky words said, so and here from phase 4.
Ask your child to read the sentences on this sheet (below) and see if they can go on a tricky word hunt! The words said, so and here are in the sentences but which other tricky words can you find as well?
